Videoconferencing: Using Access Grid

Both Michigan and Stanford purchased a videoconferencing solution from a value-added reseller, inSors Integrated Communications, Inc. The software facilitates the communication between multiple collaborators, in that multiple locations can be projected simulataneous on one integrated interface.

Here you see the cameras set up to show both the students' monitors and their faces.

The equipment required for the Videoconferencing Suite from inSors includes:

• Dell Precision 450 Xeon dual-processor 2.66 GHz, 512MB RAM,
• 3 NEC Vt 660 Projectors
• Gentner AP 400 echo-cancellation device
• 4 Canon VC-C4 Cameras
• 4 audio-technica table microphones
• 2 projection screens
• 4 ceiling-mounted speakers
• 4 track-mounted spotlights
