Lesson Plan for Clinical Anatomy of Knee Joint

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, the learner should be able to:

  • Describe the bony architecture of the knee joint.
  • Enumerate and point out the key muscles around the knee joint.
  • Identify the key external (extra-articular) ligaments associated with the knee joint.
  • Recognize the intra-articular cartilage and menisci and discuss their clinical significance.
  • Point out the cruciate ligaments inside the knee joint and describe their clinical co-relates.
